Nick and Tony have been so heavy on my heart the last week. I pray for them every day, and each day the Lord is truly faithful in giving me new things to pray for, in addition to the staples of protection and comfort. Today at college group, we prayed for the two of them. Joe had two men sit in stead for Nick and Tony and we just intensely prayed over the two of them. It was so powerful...I was close to crying the whole time, just knowing a small amount of what they've been going through.
We prayed enormous protection over them. We prayed that the Lord would trade a spirit of heaviness for garments of praise. We asked the Lord to raise up a standard against the enemy, and prayed God's light would be seen in them. That men may see their good works and glorify their Father in heaven. I could go on and on. It was awesome. Not only do I have faith that our prayers are effective, but our prayers also help put our minds at ease while we sit here and hope for them. God is good.
Anyhow, all that to say. I'm sending out care packages again. But this time I want to know if anyone wants to get in on that action. I'm sending a load of food and cds and pictures. They really enjoy getting American food. So, if any of you want to chip in or make your own package for some soldier who might really need it, let me know. Post a comment and we'll work it out.
Thanks. They truly live for our letters and packages. As you can see from the picture above.
Let me know,
Emily
It's funny how we will write about similar things at times and not know it. I wrote about Nick and Tony last night because I couldn't sleep and they were so much on my heart. And here you are writing about the same thing. Great minds think the alike eh? ;o)
Posted by: Kristin at April 4, 2004 04:06 PMI'd like to contribute to the package. Please let me know how I could most effectively help.
And Kristin- you're right! Great minds, led by the same ONE Spirit of the Living God, will frequently think alike.
God is good!
