Paralyzed

I wish I had more to say today, but I am completely at a loss in the face of all that's happened in Iraq. The brutal, brutal killing of Nick Berg is unlike anything I've ever seen. For those who are still not convinced that we are fighting pure evil, you must watch the video of him being beheaded. Most links are shutting down because so many people are trying to access the footage, but keep trying. I haven't seen the thing in it's entirety, with audio that is. The fact that they sawed off his head paralyzes me. Sawed it off, while screaming over his screams, "Allah Akbar" or "Allah is Great". I'm going to stop before streams of profanity stream from my otherwise non-profane mouth.

God be with the Bergs and all our men and women over in the "axis of evil."

Emily, I just looked at the pictures that Chris posted on his website and I almost passed out. What a horrible, disgusting site. I feel like crying, screaming, fainting, that was so horrible. I dont even know if I could stand to watch the video. I feel so aweful for Nick's family and what a horrific thing they are dealing with. God be with them all.

Just FYI - I heard that Nick's family has actually brought a lawsuit against the US government for what has happened to their son...

They might be, Kelly, but I think it was the Iraqi security forces who arrested Nick Berg, not the coalition forces. I don't think the US government is to blame, but I do think they should definitely put forth some compensation. Afterall, he was there to see if he could help in any way.

I've seen the video in its entirety and was physically sick after seeing it. Arab brutality is sickening. It's not just these Islamists...It's the Arab world in general.

And you know what else makes me sick is that the liberals in this country want to appease them. We're apologizing to them because they killed our people and we're retaliating. Hamtramk, MI, King county in WA state, hatred towards Israel, it all makes me sick!! I can't stand to think that the media will overshadow the Nick Berg story with Abu Ghraib. Honestly, what is going on??

Well, at this point, I want to know why Zacharias Mousoui had access to Nick Berg's college e-mail account a few years ago AND why he had been detained by both Iraqi security forces and Coalition troops. It sounds really odd.

Another odd thing: Nick's dad was quoted as saying, "They (the terrorists who butchered Nick) didn't know what they were doing. Nick was a friend."...or something to that effect. Now what does THAT mean? The first sentence is pretty obvious: he would rather blame the Bush administration than the terrorists, but what does he mean by stating Nick was their friend? All the news reports I've read say that Nick was a conservative and his dad was anti-war.
