I may have a cure-all for my blogging absence. I'm thinking of pulling a New York Times and charging $49.95 a year for people to read my thoughts. If I got paid, I might blog more. Whatdya think? :)
Posted by Portia at June 18, 2005 04:02 PMno thanks, That's not smart. Besides, it's a blog, not the New York Times.
Posted by: Jon at June 19, 2005 11:58 PMSoooo much better than the NYT, I think everyone would agree. ;-p
Posted by: Portia at June 20, 2005 09:19 AMI'd agree with Jon if you said the LA Times or even the Fresno Bee, but it's a blog, hence why it would be great to get intresting facts and good debates coming from the east coast. I love the idea. Look into it! :)
Posted by: Min at June 20, 2005 01:15 PMHmmm, pennies for your thoughts?
I've been holding back a great quote from Cyril Connolly in case I'm ever induced to offer a tip jar on my blog. It's "yours" if you want it (does this entitle me to a discount on my first year's subscription?):
"I should like to see the custom introduced of readers who are pleased with a book sending the author some small cash token: anything between half-a-crown and a hundred pounds ⦠Not more than a hundred pounds ⓠthat would be bad for my character ⓠnot less than half-a-crown ⓠthat would do no good to yours."
Posted by: The Night Writer at June 20, 2005 02:13 PMSorry guys, I found out it was a joke. It's harder than I thought to discern a facitous tone in writing. So, no worries, you won't have to pay a dime for her thoughts. ;)

Posted by: Min at June 20, 2005 03:11 PMYou forgot to mention the one-time $10 processing fee. Well, maybe not. I'm sure you mentioned it in the 12 page site access contract that must be mailed in before accessing the site.
Posted by: Dave Thomson at June 20, 2005 08:28 PMI'm sorry, I can't do that, Dave...
