A note to all who are considering enrollment at a university with a top football team, buy season tickets right when they're available. Or else, like me you'll have to grin and bear it and get 'em off of ebay.
Having a team ranked #1 is awesome. Not having tickets? Not so awesome.
The game versus UCLA could bankrupt me. But it's allllll worth it. :)

Posted by: Greta at August 25, 2006 01:48 PMRanked Number 1 where?
Posted by: the Pirate at August 25, 2006 10:15 PMOkay, so they're not guaranteed the number one slot, but let's face it...we're at least in the top three. Definitely a team to beat. And their tickets are definitely hot items on ebay.
Posted by: Portia at August 26, 2006 05:59 PMNot that I want to cast aspersions or anything, USC may be a top ten team, but more towards ten than one. They've lost too many offensive weapons to deserve a higher ranking. And yes, Texas is ranked higher than USC in the preseason polls. (insert picture of me ducking a tomato tossed in my direction)
How can poor students afford football tix?
Posted by: Marc V at August 28, 2006 09:13 AMI'll have you know that Sports Illustrated has our team ranked at number five, while US News and World Report has us at number three, without a definitive answer on who really is number one. ESPN has us at number six. Everyone though, seems to think Ohio State will be the number one...but the fat lady hasn't sung yet. :)
And as for affording football tickets....it's a mystery. Ours sold out faster than I expected, so I missed out. :(
